Privacy Policy — Age Calculator
Last updated: 2026-07-03
Age Calculator (the "App") is published by Boring Apps (the "Developer") on Google Play. This policy explains what data is processed when you use the App and why.
1. Data processed locally on your device
The App stores the data you enter locally on your device and does not require an account. The Developer does not build a personal profile and does not sell your data. The Developer operates a minimal EU-hosted backend that is used only for (a) crash diagnostics and (b) anonymous usage analytics, as described in section 4 — your entered content stays on the device.
The following data is stored only in the App's local storage and never leaves your device:
- App preferences (theme, language, settings)
- Optional usage history, when that feature exists and is enabled
- Premium purchase status (when that feature exists)
2. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App may show ads provided by Google AdMob. To do that,
Google's SDK receives your Android advertising ID (which you can reset
at any time in Settings → Google → Ads) and basic device metadata
(model, language, country, coarse IP address). The advertising ID does not
identify you personally. Google processes this data as an independent
controller, in line with
Google's Ads policies.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland the App shows a consent screen (Google User Messaging Platform, IAB TCF) before ads are loaded. You can change your choices at any time from the App's settings.
Premium users do not see ads.
3. In-app purchases (Google Play Billing)
The App may offer a one-time purchase ("Premium"), handled by Google Play Billing. Payment and card data are processed exclusively by Google — the Developer has no access to them. We only receive a purchase confirmation in order to unlock Premium features on your device.
4. Anonymous diagnostics and usage analytics
The App sends crash reports and anonymous usage events to the Developer's own EU-hosted servers (not to Firebase). A crash report contains a stack trace plus your device model, OS version, and app version. A usage event contains a random per-install identifier (anon_id) and the event name (for example, a screen opened). Neither contains the content you entered nor anything that identifies you personally. We use this only to fix bugs, improve stability, and understand which features are used.
You can disable ad personalisation and reset your advertising ID via
Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID.
5. Permissions
The App only requests permissions required for it to function:
- Internet access — to fetch ads, handle Google Play purchases, and send anonymous diagnostics and usage analytics.
- App storage — to persist your preferences.
- Other permissions may be requested on demand if a specific feature needs them (e.g. access to the photo library when converting images).
6. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal data.
7. Your rights
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679) you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, or object to processing of your personal data. The data you enter stays on your device, so most requests are satisfied locally — by uninstalling the App or resetting your advertising ID in Android settings. The diagnostics and analytics described in section 4 carry no account or identity, only a random per-install identifier. For anything else, contact us using the email in section 9.
8. Changes to this policy
Updates will be published at this same URL with a new date. Continued use of the App after a change indicates acceptance.
