Privacy Policy — Text Polish
Last updated: 2026-07-03
Text Polish (the "App") is published by Boring Apps (the "Developer") on Google Play. This policy explains what data is processed when you use the App and why.
1. AI processing (text you submit)
This App is an AI assistant. To produce a result, the App sends the text you submit to Anthropic, PBC — a third-party large language model provider — over an encrypted HTTPS connection, using Anthropic's Claude Messages API. Anthropic processes the request and returns a response, which the App displays to you.
The submitted text contains whatever you choose to paste or type into the App, which may include personal information if you include it. Please avoid pasting sensitive personal data (national IDs, payment card numbers, health records, login credentials, etc.) into the App.
Per Anthropic's API policies, inputs and outputs submitted via the API are not used to train Anthropic's models by default. Anthropic acts as a data processor for the request and retains data only as needed for operating the service and complying with their legal obligations, in line with their privacy policy: anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
The App itself does not store the text of your prompts or AI responses after the response is shown. The conversation is not retained on any server operated by the Developer, and the Developer has no access to your prompts or to Anthropic's responses. The Developer's own EU-hosted backend (see section 5) receives only crash diagnostics and anonymous usage analytics — never the text you submit.
2. Data processed locally on your device
Apart from the AI request described in section 1, the App runs on your device. The Developer does not create an account for you and does not send your usage content anywhere other than to Anthropic for the purpose of generating the AI response.
The following data is stored only in the App's local storage and never leaves your device:
- App preferences (theme, language, settings)
- Optional usage history, when that feature exists and is enabled
- Premium purchase status (when that feature exists)
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App may show ads provided by Google AdMob. To do that,
Google's SDK receives your Android advertising ID (which you can reset
at any time in Settings → Google → Ads) and basic device metadata
(model, language, country, coarse IP address). The advertising ID does not
identify you personally. Google processes this data as an independent
controller, in line with
Google's Ads policies.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland the App shows a consent screen (Google User Messaging Platform, IAB TCF) before ads are loaded. You can change your choices at any time from the App's settings.
Premium users do not see ads.
4. In-app purchases (Google Play Billing)
The App may offer a one-time purchase ("Premium"), handled by Google Play Billing. Payment and card data are processed exclusively by Google — the Developer has no access to them. We only receive a purchase confirmation in order to unlock Premium features on your device.
5. Anonymous diagnostics and usage analytics
The App sends crash reports and anonymous usage events to the Developer's own EU-hosted servers (not to Firebase). A crash report contains a stack trace plus your device model, OS version, and app version. A usage event contains a random per-install identifier (anon_id) and the event name (for example, a screen opened). Neither contains the text of your AI prompts or AI responses, nor anything that identifies you personally. We use this only to fix bugs, improve stability, and understand which features are used.
You can disable ad personalisation and reset your advertising ID via
Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID.
6. Permissions
The App only requests permissions required for it to function:
- Internet access — to call the Anthropic Claude API, fetch ads, handle Google Play purchases, and send anonymous diagnostics and usage analytics.
- App storage — to persist your preferences.
- Other permissions may be requested on demand if a specific feature needs them.
7. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal data.
8. Your rights
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679) you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, or object to processing of your personal data. The text you enter stays on your device except when it is sent to Anthropic to generate an AI response (section 1); the Developer does not retain it. The diagnostics and analytics described in section 5 carry no account or identity, only a random per-install identifier, so most requests directed at the Developer are satisfied locally — by uninstalling the App or resetting your advertising ID in Android settings. For data processed by Anthropic on the Developer's behalf, please consult Anthropic's privacy policy linked in section 1. For anything else, contact us using the email in section 10.
9. Changes to this policy
Updates will be published at this same URL with a new date. Continued use of the App after a change indicates acceptance.
